Philip is the Managing General Practitioner and owner of Hataitai Medical Practice. He joined the practice in 1990 and took full management in 2004.
Philip graduated from Otago Medical School in 1984. Following medical posts in Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore, he subsequently trained in General Practice in Wellington.
His special interest within the scope of General Practice is Dermatology.
He is a car enthusiast and a fitness fanatic into trail running and mountain biking.
Janice is the co-owner and Practice Manager of Hataitai Medical Practice. She is married to Philip.
Janice has a background in the travel and banking industry prior to joining the practice.
As the practice manager, she leads the team with diligence and care and was integral in helping the practice achieve Cornerstone Accreditation in 2014.
She makes it her business to keep the all-important engine room of the practice happy and healthy.
Kristy was born in Malaysia and emigrated with her family to Perth, Australia at a young age. Trained as a doctor in Perth, she sojourned to Wellington for a holiday and was captivated to make the city her permanent home.
She is fluent in Cantonese and has experienced working as a doctor in Third World countries during her training and on a voluntary basis.
She has a special interest in general medicine and children's health.
Kristy is married with two children.
The return of popular Dr Ramani has brought us great delight. She obtained her medical degree from Otago University and also holds a diploma in Obstetrics. She has a keen interest in Women's health and fertility issues.
Having moved to New Zealand when she was just a toddler, she enjoys the Kiwi outdoors as an avid walker. She also enjoys reading and knitting.
Dr Ramani is married and has a son.
Bronwyn is our head nurse; she has been a valuable member of our practice for the last 15 years.
She is thoroughly skilled when it comes to providing assistance during minor surgeries, post operative care and emergency situations.
Having raised a family whilst nursing has enabled Bronwyn to be resilient and practical.
She enjoys gardening on her days off.
Nurse Ray has been our locum nurse for the last 3 years.
Her great wealth of experience accummulated from working at various private practices and retirement villages has been invaluable.
She provides sound advice and carefully considered nursing care to many of our patients.
Please welcome Andrea, the friendly new face at HMP Reception. She is currently completing her undergraduate studies in Psychology at Victoria University.
Andrea comes to us after stints as a student and Mental Health Support Worker in Canada and a Volunteer in a Holiday Camp for disabled children in America.
In her spare time, she enjoys the challenge of being a lifeguard on Paekakariki Beach and the chill of doing yoga and mediation.
We are looking forward to her joining the busy, buzzy team here at HMP.
